Bespoke Joinery in Edinburgh

Bespoke joinery made to match your floors and stairs

Hoff Parquet makes bespoke joinery in Edinburgh in the same timber and finish as our wood floors and stair cladding, so floors, stairs and built-in pieces read as one design. We design, produce and install under-stairs storage, slatted oak wall and door cladding, hidden doors, oak side bars and stringers, skirting and architraves, window boards and other made-to-measure details for homes and commercial interiors across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Because we make the flooring, the stair treads and the joinery together, the oak colour, grain and finish match exactly, and the joinery can be planned around the floor and stair lines from the start.

What we make

  • Under-stairs storage – cupboards and pull-out storage built into the stair void, with flush or hidden doors.
  • Slatted solid oak cladding – vertical oak profiles for staircases, walls, doors and storage fronts, with concealed doors cut into the pattern.
  • Stair joinery – solid oak side bars, stringers, landing edges and profiles drilled and fitted around balustrades and spindles.
  • Finishing joinery – oak skirting, architraves, window boards, thresholds and nosings matched to your floor.
  • Feature walls and panelling – timber wall panels and acoustic slatted panels for living rooms, offices and hospitality spaces.

Project: slatted oak storage under the stairs in Inverleith

Bespoke solid oak slatted under-stairs storage with hidden doors in an Inverleith, Edinburgh home
Oak-clad staircase with slatted solid oak joinery and black metal spindles

In a high-end home in Inverleith we turned the space under a newly clad oak staircase into storage. The doors and the front of the storage were clad in bespoke solid oak profiles that follow every step of the stair, so the doors are almost invisible when closed. The oak was finished to match the staircase and the engineered oak floor. See the full staircase and joinery project.

How a bespoke joinery project works

  1. Visit and survey – we measure the space, check walls, floors and the stair structure, and talk through how you will use it.
  2. Design and samples – we propose sizes, profiles and finishes and match them to your floor using real timber samples.
  3. Production – each piece is made to measure in solid or engineered oak (or walnut, ash and other species).
  4. Installation and finishing – our own team installs, adjusts doors and hinges, and finishes the joinery to match.

Frequently asked questions

Do you make bespoke joinery to match an existing wood floor?

Yes. We produce joinery in the same species, colour and finish as your floor and stairs, using real samples to match it. Because we also supply flooring and stair cladding, we can match an existing Hoff Parquet floor exactly and get very close to most other oak floors.

Can you build storage under an existing staircase in Edinburgh?

Yes. We survey the stair void, build a frame with doors or drawers, and clad the front in oak or another timber. Doors can be hidden within a slatted oak pattern so the storage looks like part of the staircase.

Which areas do you cover for bespoke joinery?

We design and install joinery across Edinburgh, including Inverleith, Stockbridge, Morningside, the New Town and the West End, as well as the Lothians. Larger projects elsewhere in Scotland can be discussed.

Can joinery be combined with new stair cladding and flooring?

Yes, and it works best that way. Planning floor, stairs and joinery together means the grain direction, colours and joint lines line up, and one team is responsible for the whole result.
