Engineered Wood Flooring
Engineered wood flooring is very popular today and has some advantages over Solid Wood Flooring. Available in a variety of hardwood styles (Oak, Ash, Walnut, Douglas Fir), it’s highly durable and suitable for any room. Our Engineered wood flooring is made by layering thin sheets of wood, glued together to form a single plank. The top layer is real European wood (Oak, Ash, Walnut, Douglas Fir), typically 4mm or 6mm thick. This flooring is constructed with three to five hardwood layers, arranged in a cross-grain pattern and bonded under heat and pressure for extra strength. Our engineered wood flooring ranges from 13mm to 21mm thick and 140mm to 400mm wide, with lengths between 1600mm and 2400mm. Special lengths up to 6000mm are also available for Wide Plank Wood Flooring. We supply and install engineered wood flooring in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London, with delivery available across the UK

5 Reasons To Chose Engineered Wood Flooring
Engineered wood flooring is a popular choice for many homeowners and renovators due to its unique combination of practicality and aesthetics. Here are five strong reasons to choose engineered wood flooring:
In summary, engineered wood flooring offers a durable, versatile, and cost-effective solution for flooring, combining the beauty of hardwood with the practical benefits of modern manufacturing. This makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of homes and commercial spaces.
- Durability and Stability: Engineered wood is constructed in layers, with the top layer being real hardwood and the underlying layers typically made of plywood or HDF. This structure makes it highly stable and less prone to warping or reacting to changes in humidity and temperature compared to solid hardwood. This makes engineered wood an excellent choice for areas with fluctuating climates or for installation over underfloor heating systems.
- Versatility in Design: Engineered wood comes in a wide range of wood species, finishes, and styles. This variety allows you to choose a floor that perfectly suits your home's aesthetic, whether you're aiming for a modern, rustic, or classic look. Furthermore, the top layer of real wood can often be sanded and refinished, giving you the ability to renew the floor’s surface and adapt to new interior design trends.
- Ease of Installation: Our Engineered wood flooring features tongue-and-groove design, making it easier and faster to install than traditional solid hardwood. This can be particularly advantageous for DIY projects or for minimizing the disruption and labor costs of professional installation.
- Eco-Friendliness: Since engineered wood uses less hardwood than solid wood planks, it's generally considered a more sustainable option. The production process efficiently uses timber resources, often incorporating wood that would otherwise be discarded. This can be an important factor for environmentally conscious consumers.
- Cost-Effectiveness: While engineered wood provides the beauty and feel of solid hardwood, it often comes at a more affordable price. The cost-effectiveness is not just in the initial purchase price but also in the reduced installation costs. Additionally, its durability and ease of maintenance can translate into long-term savings.
In summary, engineered wood flooring offers a durable, versatile, and cost-effective solution for flooring, combining the beauty of hardwood with the practical benefits of modern manufacturing. This makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of homes and commercial spaces.
