Burnt Ground

Burnt Ground Chevron Parquet is an engineered oak chevron floor in a deep reddish-brown that turns almost black in places. The oak is fired, deep wire brushed and sealed with a natural hard-wax oil, producing a dramatic, tactile surface for statement living rooms, hallways and boutique hospitality spaces.

Every block is cut at 45° so the ends meet in an unbroken V. We set the pattern out from a centre line, which makes this dark oak chevron parquet especially effective down a long corridor or through an open-plan kitchen and dining room. Widths of 100mm, 120mm or 140mm and lengths from 460mm to 720mm are standard, and bespoke block sizes can be made.

The tongue and groove blocks are fully bonded to a flat, prepared subfloor. A 4mm or 6mm oak wear layer sits on a 13mm, 16mm or 21mm board, so the floor is stable over underfloor heating kept at a surface temperature of 27°C or less.

• Heavy wire brushing disguises everyday marks better than a smooth dark finish
• Four-side bevels define each V clearly, even in such a deep tone
• Grades run from characterful Rustic to calm Prime
• Strong partner for stone, concrete, aged brass and pale plaster walls

For care, use Hoff Parquet Cleaner for routine washing and Hoff Parquet Wax Refresher on worn areas. Also available as Burnt Ground engineered planks and Burnt Ground Herringbone Parquet. Order a sample online or see the colour in daylight at our Morningside showroom in Edinburgh.
