At Hoff Parquet, we recently completed a stunning private residential project in St Albans, UK, supplying and expertly installing our European ash engineered wood flooring. The highlight of this bespoke project was the installation of our impressive 300mm wide European white ash planks, including planks up to 6 metres in length, offering a dramatic sense of scale and continuity throughout the interior.
The project began with the client receiving a custom sample set to review finishes and wood characteristics. After careful consideration, our European ash engineered planks were selected and specified for the entire flooring scheme. This wood species is known for its unique pale tone and striking grain pattern—ideal for contemporary and minimal interiors with natural character.
Our ash planks are constructed on a high-performance birch plywood base, fully water-resistant and engineered for superior stability, making them an excellent choice for projects with underfloor heating systems. The entire floor was professionally glued down to a level screed subfloor for maximum durability and a clean, seamless appearance.
One of the key architectural challenges of this installation was ensuring perfect alignment with the direction of exterior decking and exposed roof structure beams. Our fitting team adjusted the plank layout to match these structural elements, enhancing the flow and spatial harmony of the interiors.
This project showcases the timeless beauty and adaptability of engineered wide plank ash flooring — bringing warmth, brightness, and refined simplicity to the home.
