This project features the supply and installation of our beautiful European Oak engineered wood flooring for a private residential client in Glasgow, Scotland. Installed as part of a new build development, the flooring was selected for its rich smoked tone, natural rustic character, and excellent suitability for use over a wet underfloor heating system.
For this project, we supplied our 16mm thick engineered oak flooring in 180mm widths and long plank lengths ranging from 1800mm to 2700mm. The chosen product was our Rustic Grade European Oak engineered wood flooring in “Smoked Oak”, a floor full of warmth, texture, and authentic natural detail.

Subfloor Preparation and Installation Process

Once the screed had cured properly, we applied a damp proof membrane (DPM) to protect the floor and provide the correct foundation for the installation.
After this, we proceeded with the glue-down wood flooring installation method, which is one of the best solutions for engineered wood flooring over underfloor heating. This method helps to improve stability, reduce movement, and provide a more solid feel underfoot.
