About Skifer Live Edge Wood Flooring

Skifer Live Edge Wood Flooring is a slate-grey engineered oak floor with curved, tree-shaped boards and a hard-wax oil finish. Skifer is the Norwegian word for slate, and the colour has that same dark, blue-grey depth.

It is a moody, Nordic-inspired floor for contemporary homes, galleries and offices. Next to white walls it looks crisp; layered with timber furniture and wool rugs it feels cosy.

Live edge boards are cut along the log's outline and laid to a bespoke plan, so their joints run across the room like veins in stone. The 17mm engineered build, with a 5mm oak surface, keeps them stable.

It works with self-regulating underfloor heating as long as the floor surface stays at or below 27°C. Look after it with Hoff Parquet Cleaner, then refresh the oil now and then using Hoff Parquet Wax Refresher. Ask us for a Skifer sample. Available in 17mm engineered oak (5mm oak on a 12mm plywood base), in random widths and lengths set by the layout plan.
