Installation Process
Installation ProcessInstalling unfinished engineered oak chevron parquet requires attention to detail but is well worth the effort for its final look. Here are the basic steps:

  1. Prepare the Subfloor: Ensure the subfloor is clean, level, and dry. For underfloor heating, stabilise the temperature a few days before installation.
  2. Acclimate the Wood: Allow the flooring blocks to acclimate in the room for 48-72 hours to adjust to the room’s humidity and temperature.
  3. Apply Adhesive and Lay the Chevron Pattern: Spread a suitable adhesive over the subfloor, laying each block carefully in the chevron pattern. Start from a straight chalk line to ensure the pattern stays aligned.
  4. Sanding and Finishing: Once installed, the unfinished chevron parquet flooring needs sanding to create a smooth surface. Then, apply the finish of your choice, whether it’s an oil, hardwax, or lacquer to seal and protect the floor.
