Brass Inlay 14 × 5 mm

A fine line of solid brass is one of the simplest ways to make a wooden floor feel bespoke. Set between two floors, around a parquet field or along a border, it catches the light and gives the floor a crisp, architectural finish – the kind of detail usually seen in boutique hotels, galleries and high-end homes.

Our brass inlay strips are made from durable brushed solid brass. They are strong, lightweight and load-bearing, will not rust, and keep their shape for the life of the floor, so they are suitable for busy hallways, kitchens and commercial interiors as well as living spaces.

Where to use it

• Thresholds – a neat, flush transition between two floors of the same height, for example between rooms or where two different woods or patterns meet.
• Parquet borders – frame a herringbone or chevron parquet field, or separate the pattern from a perimeter border of wide oak planks.
• Decorative lines and panels – create rugs, panels, stripes or geometric patterns within a plank or parquet floor.
• Edge trimming – a clean, durable edge where flooring meets stone, tile or stair details.

Installation

Each 3 m length comes pre-drilled with 2 mm holes at 300 mm centres, starting 150 mm from each end, ready to be fixed into a routed channel or set between floor boards so that it sits flush with the finished surface. Strips can be cut to length and mitred at corners on site. The brushed surface can be left to develop a warm, natural patina or polished back to a bright finish.
