About the Piko Solid Oak Bed

The Piko is built around one comfortable idea: a headboard that slopes back and is padded, so you can sit up with a book or a laptop without a pillow tower. Everything else is kept deliberately plain. The frame has straight edges and sharp corners, and the solid oak is left to speak for itself.

Sloping, padded headboard for sitting up in bed
Solid oak frame, handmade in Europe
Central support rail with an extra leg
Choice of seven oak colours and three fabrics

The frame is handmade in Europe from solid oak. It is supplied without a slatted base, so you choose the base that suits your mattress. A central rail runs down the middle of the bed and is held up by an extra leg, which stops the base sagging in the centre. The low frame leaves 20cm underneath, enough to clear a vacuum cleaner or slide in a storage box.

In a modern flat or a calm, uncluttered bedroom the Piko looks right at home, and the upholstered headboard softens a room full of hard surfaces. It also holds its own in a larger room with high ceilings, such as a Georgian or Victorian bedroom, where the clean shape keeps the bed from competing with cornicing and tall windows. For a matching look, the Piko range also includes a bedside table, desk, tables and chairs.
