Two sculptural round tables that can stand together as one object or apart as separate side tables. The low one is shaped like a mushroom, the tall one like a solid weight, both in heavy oak.

Wood finishes range from pale bleached and raw oak to natural, medium, smoked, graphite and dark oak, while cobalt, olive, terracotta, wine and black are painted colours.

Low version (mushroom): height 41 cm, diameter 61 cm or 76 cm
High version (weight): height 48 cm, diameter 52 cm or 67 cm

Material: 100% oak, glued from wide strips not joined along the length, polished
Finish: Natural oils and waxes, plus a hydrophobic coating that repels water and stains; it needs periodic maintenance

About the Splot Solid Oak Coffee Table

Splot began as a pair of tables designed to relate to each other. One is a low, soft mushroom shape. The other is taller and stands on a broad, steady base, a bit like a heavy weight. Push them together and the mushroom slips partly into the taller piece, so the two read as a single sculpted object. Pull them apart and each becomes an ordinary side table at its own height and width.

That flexibility helps in many living rooms. In a snug Edinburgh flat, one compact table beside the sofa may be plenty. In a larger Georgian reception room you can spread both across the seating area, or bring them close for a bold centrepiece. The Splot Modular Sofa with Solid Oak Legs shares the same chunky, rounded language.

The tops are made from wide oak strips that run the full length, with no joins along the grain, then polished by hand. You see plenty of unbroken grain, and the weight of the oak keeps everything stable. Beyond natural oak shades, the range includes painted colours such as cobalt, olive, terracotta and wine, and black, for a more playful look. Each table is handmade in Europe from solid oak.
