A solid oak coffee table sitting in a slim, open steel frame with a geometric outline. Four sizes, a brushed or polished top, and it arrives fully assembled.

The wood colour options range from raw and natural oak, which keep a light, true-to-wood look, through bleached, medium, smoked, dark and graphite oak, which are stained or tinted for a deeper or cooler tone; the grain stays visible in every one.

Dimensions: height approx. 44 cm; top thickness approx. 2 cm. Width and depth as selected.
Material: solid oak top, glued from wide strips not joined lengthways, brushed or polished; open frame in steel rod.

Frame: black powder-coated steel as standard. Polished stainless steel or another colour is available on request.
Finish: natural oils and waxes on the top, plus a hydrophobic, stain- and water-repellent coating.
Delivery: arrives assembled.

About the Ago Solid Oak Coffee Table

The Ago is built on contrast. A warm slab of solid oak sits within a thin, openwork steel frame, so the heavy and the delicate meet in one low table. The shapes are geometric without being austere, and the frame is open enough to let you see straight through to the rug and floor beneath.

The frame is made with very close tolerances from steel rod and is powder-coated in black as standard. A polished stainless steel version can also be made, and other colours are possible on request; just get in touch with us before ordering. The oak top is about 2 cm thick, glued from wide strips that are not joined lengthways, and you can choose a brushed or polished surface.

It is handmade in Europe and made to order, with a finish of natural oils and waxes topped by a hydrophobic coating that repels water and stains, which is helpful for mugs and glasses.

Where it works

At about 44 cm high, the table sits at a comfortable height beside most sofas. The smallest size suits a compact flat or an armchair corner, while the longer rectangles give a larger sitting room a proper centrepiece. The slim metal frame fits modern and minimalist interiors, and also adds a crisp note to a traditional Victorian or Georgian room where the furniture is mostly wooden and soft.
