A straightforward solid oak dining table that extends by 60 cm without cutting the top in two. Six sizes, brushed or polished, and it doubles as a generous desk.

The wood colour options range from raw and natural oak, which keep a light, true-to-wood look, through bleached, medium, smoked, dark and graphite oak, which are stained or tinted for a deeper or cooler tone; the grain stays visible in every one.

Dimensions: width and length as selected. Top thickness approx. 3.5 cm.
Extension: optional 60 cm leaf, front-slide system with a one-piece top.
Material: solid oak, glued laminated top, brushed or polished.

Finish: natural oils and waxes, plus a hydrophobic, stain- and water-repellent coating (periodic maintenance required).

About the Farmhouse Solid Oak Dining Table

Some tables do not need a clever story, and the Farmhouse is one of them. It is a plain, honest oak table with a thick glued-laminated top of around 3.5 cm and a simple frame, built to sit in the middle of a busy home and look better with use.

Where it does show some ingenuity is in the extension. Rather than splitting the top in the middle, the table uses a front-slide system, so the top stays in a single uncut piece and the extra leaf slides out from the end. The runners are fully hidden, which keeps the clean lines when the table is closed and adds a useful 60 cm when guests arrive.

It is built entirely from solid oak, handmade in Europe and made to order. You can have it brushed, which gives a subtle texture, or polished for a smoother feel. The oil and wax finish is topped with a hydrophobic coating that resists water and stains, and it should be maintained from time to time as oiled wood normally is.

Where it works

The size range is wide, from a narrow table for a small kitchen to a long one for a big family. That makes it a sensible choice for a tenement kitchen-diner, a Victorian dining room or a bright open-plan flat. Its plain shape suits rustic, country and contemporary interiors alike.

It also makes a roomy desk, which is useful for home working.
