A bold, sculptural dining table in solid oak with a 3.5cm top, handmade in Europe to order. Available in a wide range of sizes, including very long versions.

Natural, raw and bleached oak keep the table light, medium and smoked oak add warmth, graphite and dark oak are deeper and greyer, and American walnut is a richer brown timber.

About the Imelo Solid Oak Dining Table

Imelo is not designed to blend into the background. It is a strong, deliberate piece with a sculptural form, meant to be the centre of the room rather than an accessory to it. If you want a table that starts conversations, this is the one in the range that does it most readily.

The top is 3.5cm thick and built from wide oak slats that run the full length rather than being joined end to end, then glued in layers and sanded smooth. The result is a continuous, unbroken grain. An American walnut version is made in the same way, from wide strips with no joins along the length. Everything is handmade in a European workshop, finished by hand, and made to order.

The size range is broad, from 90 x 180cm up to 100 x 300cm, so it can serve a small family or a long table for a crowd. At 76cm high, it works with standard dining chairs and benches. A long version needs a big room, and it is a natural fit for a generous kitchen-diner, a Georgian dining room with high ceilings, or an open-plan loft. Check doorways, stairs and hallways before ordering a larger size, since it arrives for self-assembly.

The surface is treated with natural oils and waxes plus a hydrophobic coating that repels water and stains. It needs periodic impregnation to keep protection at its best.
