About the Olio Solid Oak Round Dining Table

Olio is a round table with a clear point of difference: its legs are triangular in section, giving the base a crisp, modern edge beneath a soft circular top. It is handmade in Europe from solid oak and made to order, and the 4cm thick top gives it real presence without looking heavy.

A circle changes how people sit and talk. Everyone is the same distance from everyone else, nobody is stuck at the far end, and conversation tends to stay in one piece rather than splitting into two. The edges are gently softened and there are no corners, so it is a comfortable choice where children are running about. The smaller diameters fit snugly into a kitchen or a compact flat dining area, while the largest can serve a family of several in an open-plan living room.

It sits well in many British homes. In an Edinburgh tenement, a round table makes better use of a square bay or a kitchen alcove than a rectangle would. In a Georgian or Victorian room, the modern legs sit comfortably against period features. In a new-build flat, the simple outline keeps things calm.

The natural oil and wax finish brings out the grain, and a water- and stain-repellent coating protects the top, although it does need periodic maintenance. Try it with the Filo Solid Oak Dining Chair for seats with arms, or the Vilo Solid Oak Dining Chair for a lighter look.
