Natural oil & wax finish, stain-repellent coating

A slim, hand-carved stool in solid oak, with legs and rails that curve like branches. Joined without steel connectors and available in three heights for counters and bars.

The wood colour options range from raw and natural oak, which keep a light, true-to-wood look, through bleached, medium, smoked, dark and graphite oak, which are stained or tinted for a deeper or cooler tone; the grain stays visible in every one.

Dimensions: width 35 cm; depth 30 cm. Seat height as selected.
Material: solid oak, joined without steel connectors.
Finish: natural oils and waxes, plus a hydrophobic, stain- and water-repellent coating.

Construction: carved by hand without CNC machines, so small variations between pieces are normal.
Delivery: arrives assembled.

About the Flux Solid Oak Bar Stool

Look closely at the Flux stool and you will notice there is not a hard edge anywhere. The legs and the rails between them are rounded off in a way that recalls young branches, which gives a small, narrow seat a surprising amount of presence. At just 35 cm wide and 30 cm deep, it tucks neatly under a worktop.

Skilled carpenters make each stool by hand in Europe, without CNC machines. Every curve, joint and transition is carved and refined individually, which means no two stools are exactly the same. Traditional joinery holds the whole thing together, and there are no steel connectors anywhere in it, just solid oak.

It is made to order from solid oak and coated with natural oils and waxes plus a hydrophobic finish that resists water and stains, which is welcome in a kitchen where drinks and splashes are part of daily life.

Heights and placement

Different seat heights are available, so you can match the stool to a standard breakfast bar, a taller kitchen island or a lower worktop. Choose carefully for the counter you have, and the lower options also suit shorter members of the household.

The soft shapes work well in a modern flat with an open-plan kitchen, and they take the edge off a more formal Victorian or Georgian kitchen. Several stools in a row make a pleasing rhythm along an island.

For a matched set, add the Flux Solid Oak Dining Chair at the table and the Flux Solid Oak Bed upstairs.
