The Flux chair takes its cue from the current taste for rounded, uncomplicated shapes. Seat, back and legs flow into each other with soft transitions rather than sharp corners, and the result looks lighter than a solid oak chair has any right to. In reality it has some weight to it, which is part of why it feels so steady.

Every chair is made by hand in Europe, with no CNC machines in the process. Curves, joints and fine details are all carved individually, so each one has small differences from the next. Think of that as a feature rather than a flaw: it marks the chair as a crafted object instead of a mass-produced one.

The profile and proportions are designed so that the chair remains comfortable, even though the seat and backrest are solid wood. At 44 cm wide and 42 cm deep, it is slim enough to tuck into a smaller table, with a 46 cm seat height that suits standard dining tables.

Care and style

The oak is finished with natural oils and waxes and a hydrophobic coating that resists water and stains, so spilt drinks are easier to wipe away. Made to order, it also comes in American walnut.
