A round solid oak dining table with an openwork base and rounded under-milled edge, available with a 70cm extension leaf. Handmade in Europe and made to order.

Natural, raw and bleached oak keep the top pale, medium and smoked oak add warmth, and graphite and dark oak are the deepest, greyest finishes.

About the Sole Solid Oak Round Extending Table

Sole is the Italian word for sun, and the name suits a table that feels bright and open. The base is an openwork frame in solid oak rather than a heavy pedestal, so light and legroom pass through it. The tabletop edge is milled away underneath, which makes the 3.5cm top look thinner than it is.

A round table is a good choice for chatting, since everyone faces the others, and it fits easily into a square room or an awkward corner. Choose a diameter of 100, 120 or 140cm depending on how many you want to seat. If you often host, add the 70cm extension leaf. Once extended, the top becomes thicker at the join, measuring 8cm at its deepest point, compared with 3.5cm when folded away.

The top is oak glued in layers from wide slats not joined at their ends, and the whole table is handmade in Europe and made to order. The surface is treated with natural oils and waxes and a hydrophobic coating that repels water and stains, with periodic maintenance needed to keep it at its best.
