A daybed is a sensible answer to the room that has to do two jobs. This one sits low and long in solid oak, with a soft upholstered surface, and works as a lounger during the day. Choose the extension option and it opens out to give a double-width sleeping area for guests.

Without the extension, the sleeping surface measures 74 x 194cm, a comfortable single. With it unfolded, the surface becomes 133 x 194cm, enough for two people. The unfolding is simple and does not spoil the lines of the piece, and you can order the fixed version if you will only ever need one sleeper.

The frame is solid oak made by hand in a European workshop, with the corners softened in the manner of the Kiko range. At 38cm high and 201cm wide, it fits under a window, along the back wall of a study or in the corner of a spare room. In a Georgian or Victorian house with a box room doubling as an office, it can replace the usual sofa bed. In a modern one-bedroom flat it can serve as the living room seating and the guest bed.

The wood is treated with natural oils and waxes and a hydrophobic coating that resists water and stains. Upholstery comes in Favola, Mare or Vinci fabric. The daybed is delivered by courier and arrives complete.
