About the Lido Solid Oak Console Table

The Lido console is slim enough for a narrow hallway yet has a sculpted character most consoles lack. Its sides are rounded rather than squared off, and the legs curve gently, giving the piece a flowing outline that avoids looking stiff.

The top and body are solid oak, handmade in Europe, and the curved legs are finished in oak veneer. The warmth of the wood comes through in every colour option, and the grain does the decorating without any added ornament.

A single drawer sits low in the body. It runs on tip-on slides, so a light press opens it and the front stays free of handles. It is the right size for keys, post, chargers and the small things that otherwise end up on the surface. Tidy storage hidden in a clean silhouette is the point of the design.

At just 28cm deep, the Lido is well suited to the tight entrance halls of Edinburgh tenements and Victorian terraces, where a deeper table would obstruct the way through. It also works behind a sofa, under a mirror or along a landing wall. Its look sits between plain minimalism and something slightly more decorative, so it fits both a period home and a modern flat.

The table top is treated with natural oils and waxes plus a hydrophobic coating. It repels water and stains, but the top needs periodic maintenance to stay in good condition. The console arrives complete.
