Finish: natural oils and waxes, plus a hydrophobic, stain- and water-repellent coating (periodic maintenance required).
Fronts: one or two, depending on the width chosen.

About the Lino Solid Oak TV Cabinet

Most TV units try to disappear. The Lino does not. Its fronts carry a flowing, wavy relief that looks a little like soft draped cloth, and it is carved into solid oak by hand using traditional carpentry methods. Because no CNC machine is involved, every front is individual, and the way light falls across the ripples changes through the day.

Depending on the width you pick, the cabinet has one or two of these carved fronts. Below the body, turned legs lift it off the floor, each joined to the cabinet through a brass sleeve. The brass catches the eye against the oak and finishes the piece neatly; polished or satin stainless steel and powder-coated steel are also possible on request. The whole cabinet is made from solid oak, handmade in Europe and made to order.

The finish is natural oils and waxes with a hydrophobic coating to repel water and stains, and, as with all oiled furniture, it should be looked after periodically.

Where it works

At 55 cm high and 45 cm deep, the Lino is a substantial but low unit that suits a television on top or a screen mounted on the wall above. It brings a handcrafted, slightly sculptural note to a modern living room, and it also sits comfortably in a high-ceilinged Georgian or Victorian lounge where a plain white-box TV stand would look out of place.

Because the fronts are the feature, keep the surroundings calm and let the carving stand out.
