An oval solid oak dining table resting on two interlocking wooden loops, in sizes from 180cm up to 300cm. Handmade in Europe, with a brushed or polished top.

Wood colour options range from natural, raw and bleached oak through medium and smoked tones to dark and graphite, so you can match the grain to your floor and walls.

Material: 100% solid oak. The top is glued from wide boards that are not joined along their length, laid in layers, and finished brushed or polished as selected.

Finish: natural oils and waxes, plus a hydrophobic coating that repels water and stains. The surface needs periodic maintenance to keep its protection.

Delivery: by courier, as self-assembly furniture.

About the Lup Solid Oak Oval Dining Table

Look underneath the Lup and you will find its signature: two wooden loops that overlap and interlock to form a central base. It is a sculptural idea, yet it is also practical, because with no legs at the corners there is nothing to bump into, and chairs can be pulled up all the way round the oval. The top is milled back on its underside, which keeps the 3.5cm slab from looking blocky.

The top is made from wide oak boards that are not jointed along their length, glued in layers, and the whole table is handmade in Europe. Choose a brushed finish to give the grain a tactile feel, or polished for a smoother surface. Sizes begin at 90 x 180cm and stretch to 110 x 300cm, so there is a version for a snug dining kitchen as well as a banquet-sized room. The table is supplied for self-assembly.

An oval is naturally sociable: everyone sits at an equal distance and conversation flows round the table. This makes it a good match for a big family kitchen or a formal dining room in a Georgian or Victorian house, where the soft curve counters the straight lines of the architecture. The clean, quiet look also sits well in a modern open-plan flat.
