About the Rosto Solid Oak Chest of Drawers

Storage that does not shout about itself. The Rosto chest has a calm, flat-fronted face with no handles at all: push-to-open slides let each drawer spring out with a light touch, so the grain of the oak does the talking.

It comes in two layouts. The taller unit is 120 cm wide and 100 cm high, with two drawers and a black central box across the top and a pair of doors beneath. The lower, wider unit is 180 cm by 70 cm, with five drawers and the black box sitting top centre. The body is solid oak, handmade in Europe and set on a black steel base that lifts it off the floor and keeps the whole piece looking light. The top is treated with natural oils and waxes and a hydrophobic coating against water and stains, which does need periodic maintenance.

The low version suits a long wall in a bedroom or a Victorian dining room, while the taller one fits better in a narrow tenement hallway or a living room alcove. The restrained look works with Scandinavian, Japanese-inspired and modern minimal schemes.

Because each unit is made to order, it can be made to measure to suit your space and storage needs, including a lockable cabinet or a mix of drawers and doors. Pair it with the Rosto Solid Oak Console Table, Rosto Solid Oak Bedside Cabinet or Rosto Solid Oak Desk to build a matching set.
