For a returning client, Hoff Parquet supplied and installed Medium Oak natural grade engineered oak (16 × 220 mm, 1800–3000 mm lengths, special oils and hardwax oil) in two bedrooms of a period flat in Edinburgh. We prepared the floors with plywood, undercut the door frames, trimmed the doors and fitted bespoke white quadrant beading.

We undercut the door linings, trimmed the doors, and fitted bespoke matching quadrant beading and a wood-to-tile profile.

In a high-end Inverleith home, Hoff Parquet removed the old stair cladding from a steel-framed staircase, cut free and re-welded the metal spindles, and fitted bespoke oak treads, risers and winders to match the existing floors. We then made solid oak side bars and slatted oak joinery for hidden storage under the stairs.

The natural grade boards were custom finished to match the client's sample and fully glued down with Stauf flexible adhesive, finishing neatly under an architectural shadow gap around the perimeter.

We laid new plywood, fitted the 220mm Natural grade planks by gluing and secret nailing, blended the edges flush with tiled areas and clad a feature wall in the same oak.

Old boards were lifted, 9mm plywood was fixed to the joists and the panels were fully bonded from a centred layout; we also restored the staircase with 18 new risers, including two curved ones, woodworm treatment and three coats of varnish.

Where does Hoff Parquet install wood flooring?

Can I see the floors from these projects in person?
Yes. Most of the floors shown here are on display as samples or boards in our showroom at 37 Comiston Road, Morningside, Edinburgh. You can also order samples online and compare them at home in daylight.
Do you prepare the subfloor as well as fitting the floor?
Yes. Many of these projects included removing old floor coverings, levelling screeds, plywood overlays on old boards, moisture testing and sound proofing before the wood floor was fitted. Every project starts with a free survey and quote.
